Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
It needs to be noted that Nelson Mandela did use these words in his famous speech. He is the one that made the speech famous in light of his circumstance. However, Ms. Williamson wrote the words.
It is this example that covers so many fundamentals of the effective business model.
You have the collaboration of two great minds creating a moment in history. Neither one would have made the impact without the other. Had Mandela not had the powerful words to speak in his moment of triumph, the impact could have been less powerful.
Had Williamson not had such a great orator speaking her words, many of us may have never heard them.
I read a very wise philosophy of business years ago. He said a smart business owner should always find out what he's NOT good at and hire someone who is good at it.
I believe the words were more like if you hate doing it, hire someone else who loves it.
Collaboration with talented people is the key to success.
Find your strength and use it with someone who has strengths in different areas.
